John is an actuary with over 28 years’ experience in pensions, investment and financial strategy. He is a past Chairman of the Irish Association of Pension Funds and has served as a Director of the European Federation for Retirement Provision.  He currently chairs the Irish Government’s Cross-border Pension Funds Working Group.

John also held high profile positions at Irish Pensions Trust, AIB Investment Managers, Scottish Provident, and Abbey National, where he was trustee of the company’s pension plan in Ireland. More recently, John spent 3 years at Mercer where he was appointed worldwide partner and head of the Irish pensions and benefits administration business.

John is also a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland; Associate of the Irish Institute of Pensions Managers and a Qualified Financial Adviser.
