Conflict Management Services
Conflict is normal. Where a number of people work in daily contact with each other, relationships, and managing relationships become important. In a positive environment, conflict can be productive; it can encourage discussion, promote problem solving through differences of opinion and recognition of different values. However when conflict is not managed, it becomes problematic and can develop into allegations and complaints of bullying and harassment.
In 2009, Tara joined the FirstCall HR expert panel of consultants who specialise in providing a range of conflict management services including:
- Auditing policies, practices & procedures to prevent complaints in the first instance
- Mediating, investigating and adjudicating on complaints made
- Providing training and coaching programmes to restore relationships after investigations have been completed
Providing advice and guidance to employers, unions and individuals, she has gained a complete understanding of all perspectives.
Recent assignments she has completed include:
- Workplace investigations into allegations of bullying and harassment
- Reviewing and drafting disciplinary procedures
- Mediation between colleagues
- Representation at the Employment Appeals Tribunal and Labour Relations Commission
